The change gets explained beautifully — and then nobody lives it.

Recognize this situation? Below are the Liberating Structures that change it — a concrete example, and the reason this one fits here. New to Liberating Structures? Here's what it is.

Explaining isn't the same as owning — P2P is what builds ownership.

Celebrity Interview brings whoever announces the change closer to whoever has to carry it.

For example: Leadership explains the new way of working in a clear presentation with polished slides. Everyone nods, nobody has questions. Three months later, nobody's working the new way anymore — the presentation was understood, but never internalized as their own.

Liberating Structures for this situation:

Purpose-to-Practice (P2P)

Purpose-to-Practice replaces explaining with building together: instead of presenting a ready-made change, the group works out the five elements itself — purpose, principles, who needs to be involved, structure, practices — via 1-2-4-All.

What people have locked in themselves doesn't need to be "lived" afterward as if it came from outside — it's already theirs.

Celebrity Interview

Celebrity Interview takes whoever's announcing the change out of the podium and into a talk-show-style conversation: the host interviews that person about concrete examples and personal experience, not abstract goals.

Afterward, the room can come up with follow-up questions via 1-2-4-All. That gives whoever has to carry the change the chance to actually dig deeper — something a regular presentation with "any questions?" rarely draws out.

No certification, no lengthy prep — read the steps and try it at your next meeting.
